CHAPTER 1, Revision 1
DEAR BLACK PEOPLE
CAN WE TALK?
Wait, wait, wait. I’ve already Posted this twice and got three replies that were spam. I even wrote some replies to the three discussion questions, to evoke a heated discussion. But decided with some of the hot heads on here, and I know one for sure, she might go out and kick a little white child. Also, I didn’t want to create hate and bitterness where there was none. So if you want to talk, discuss, racial issues, get involved and respond. Or else I’ll just do something else. I am working on another book, and reading two. So last chance.
“This is not my point of view, but I came across an idea that White People have earned White privilege.”
Netflix produced a series called “Dear White People.” There is a book, by the same title.
The Netflix series is a situation comedy. Race and racial issues, is presented tongue in cheek. We can’t discuss these issues with a background laugh track.
The book; “Dear White People” was the same. That is not what I’m going to give you.
So I am writing this book, “Dear Black People”. I hope we will write it together, as an interactive book. I’m writing this book one Chapter at a time, then I’ll repost the full chapter with your word.
Express your emotions, tolerance and diversity, then we can make a worthwhile book.
Analyze, and think hard and throw it at us.
FIRST DISCUSSION COMMENT:
Do you believe Black Americans are worse off under President Trump than the previous administration? Back up your opinion with some facts, quotes from media or polls.
The racial polarity in America, is at a boiling point. We need a serious ongoing dialog.
I just read at a Social Media sight, an angry looking woman say, “you can define hate speech however you want. But it’s not going to change anybody’s mind.”
We Americans are letting others talk and think for us. They have stereotyped us. The media supports this stereotype with propaganda intensity.
The party counts on your vote, believe it is in their pocket. Black and White. No quid pro quo.
WHO AM I?
I am an American, shouting in the wilderness of ignorance.
No Quid pro Quo?
2. DISCUSSION COMMENT
Do you make snap, immediate decisions, form a stereotype, about persons of a different race, color, sex…when you first see them, or even hear their voice on the telephone? Why?
Therefore, I am qualified to discuss racism if you are qualified. With or without a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD, nor other pedigree. Or must I be Black?
We are qualified because we are free Americans, espousing our free speech.
When I retired after 24 years in the Air Force I had no problem finding a job. I had a lot of management experience, a Professional Demeanor, I wrote good resume’s. Or was it , I had white privilege?
3. DISCUSSION COMMENT
Do you believe there is ‘White Privilege’? In what areas of our socio-economic culture do you believe it lives, openly or in the shadows? Or not. Have you felt you have been a victim of ‘White Privilege. Or any discrimination based on color alone.
Each Chapter I’ll post on my blog; “LiberiPress”
(Liberipress.com). Please network with social media, school, family and friends and let’s talk. If racism matters.
The End of Blog 1, Interactive Racial Discussion. Now it’s your turn.
