INCREASE MY FAITH

This website is on WordPress.com. I often read some other selections on topic that interest me. But, there is one that hits me, every time I see the title.

“Help Me Believe”

I NEED YOUR HELP!

This particular blog’s link is above. Check it out. Pray for this person every time you think of it for two days. “Help Me Believe” Let’s help him.

The following are some bible verses I think are appropriate.

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”  (LUKE 17:5)

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.(Romans 10:17)

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ( Romans 10:9)

Thus, praying for an increase in faith. Faith and belief are very similar words meaning trust. When you say help me believe, you are asking for something you desire, something you cannot see. It’s difficult to believe in things you can’t see. But do you believe in the wind. Of course you do, even though you can’t see it. But you see the things it touches and the effect it has on them. Have you ever seen someone’s belief in God have a profound affect on them.

We have now heard the Aposles ask God to increase their faith and a song asking the Lord to increase the singers faith.

Just War theory and Jesus

If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Romans 12:17-18 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

Augustine admonished that Christians, “by divine edict, have no choice but to subject themselves to their political masters and [should] seek to ensure that they execute their war-fighting duty as justly as possible.”[

As a New Testament Christian, I don’t use quotes in the Old Testament on violence and war. We are free of the law and prophets by the  grace of Jesus.  (See Hebrews)

All was fulfilled when Jesus died for our sins. We are under a New covenant.

Wrestling With God

The 2nd edition of my Flash Non-Fiction ebook is up on Amazon. “Wrestling With God” by James Wiggins.

It’s free for Kindle Unlimited readers, and qualifies for the loan program. The listed price is $2.99. The Amazon editor recommended $2.99 to $9.99. There was a lot of information about tax, VAT (Value Added Tax), and I wanted to put it up for $1.00 but was unsure how that would work out. My friends and family on my Facebook page have already had an opportunity to read this in two post. But believe it or not, I did much editing since that was posted.

CHRISTIANS CAUSE VIOLENCE

I previously operated a Blog called the Americanist and a Peace Blog, after various mass or school shootings, I often had various articles on violence. I will only briefly address this, the 90% controlled news media is already destroying all rationality over the recent shootings last week (Aug. 5 2019).

Why has America been involved in some type of war, large and small, almost every year since 1776? (Wikipedia) Why do males prefer violent films and sports over females in overwhelming percentages. Why do males remember more about violent films than females. Why do males go to prison for violent crimes, commit violent crimes, in very large percentages over females. Why are us American males addicted to violence in our culture? “The answer my friend is blowing in the wind….”

Christians Can Greatly Reduce American Violence

The last census stated 70% of Americans claimed to identify themselves as Christians. That 70% is reducing quickly, especially among those who are 30 and under. DO SOMETHING!

Not all, we all know people who at work have religious literature on their desk, made religious comments often. “Thank you Jesus!” Of course this doesn’t mean their life is filled with Christ. Many Christians lives ARE filled with Christ, many aren’t. Why?

The Church Has Changed, We Have Lost Something

My first three blogs, concentrated on the differences between the early Church and the contemporary one. And not for the better. Why? We do not follow Jesus. We are not led by the Holy Spirit. Our worship services, and churches are not based on the New Testament. Our Ministers and Priest do not teach living in the spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, as taught in the New Testament. This was the purpose of the earlier Blogs.

Where Is The Holy Spirit In Our Lives?

Backing up some, many people don’t fit the pitfalls I am discussing.

Many of us believe the Holy Spirit is within when you profess faith in Christ. However in reading the New Testaments, there appears throughout different levels either available to some or that individuals are able to call on. Below Paul is addressing and praying for the Ephesians on being filled with the Holy Spirit. Look closely on the how and the results.

ACTS 3:14

For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lords holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, [HIS LOVE IS 3 DIMENTIONAL] 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge [IS UNBELIEVABLY SO]—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God . 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

The Holy Spirit Descending As a Dove

This describes a Christian filled with the Holy Spirit. You do want this to be you, right? Don’t you? You may not, because you may feel you have to give up too much, or you are unable to meet the standard. The standard is Christ loves you, remember the cross, he promised to fill you and never leave you. He has already forgiven your sins, repent, pray and for help and carry on. Repeat as necessary. But don’t give up, really try behavior modification, he’s there, faith!

I believe the big thing in many, is what you have to give up, you don’t want to stand out. Be like them who stand at the flag poll, or always talk about Jesus. Is it worth it? Re-read Ephesians 3:14-21. And think again. Read it again and highlight in you heart the things I highlighted. Pray as Paul did for the Ephesians, but for yourself in your own words. God will bless you, and be filled with all the fullness of God.

The Early Church: Part 2

“I will send the Holy  Spirit and he will guide you into all truth.”

Last Blog I left out some important word pictures of the early church.

They Had Everything in Common 4:32 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was  his own, but they had everything in common. (https://www.esv.org/Acts+4/)

Letter to Diogenes

…5:5 They dwell in their own countries, but only as
sojourners; they bear their share in all things as
citizens, and they endure all hardships as strangers.
Every foreign country is a fatherland to them, and
every fatherland is foreign.

[They were “Strangers in a Strangerland.” Not  of the world they resided in.]

5:6 They marry like all other men and they beget
children; but they do not cast away their offspring.
5:7 They have their meals in common, but not their
wives.
5:8 They find themselves in the flesh, and yet they
live not after the flesh.
5:9 Their existence is on earth, but their
citizenship is in heaven.

[They were “Strangers in a Strangerland.” Not  of the world they resided in.]

The above description of this early New Testament Church, followed the same Jesus we do. We often fail to live up to that calling because of our separation from Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We sin or feel we have disappointed God, we ask for forgiveness, knowing our sins have already been paid for. We know God promised nothing could separate us from his love. We feel a separation from God, hiding in shadows, knowing we will never win, never really defeat sin. We feel often like a failure. On a turning wheel as a mouse.

This is if his Holy Spirit resides in you, leads you, you have given all parts of your life to him. I’m not talking about a feeling of his spirit during certain times, songs, prayers or messages. We should know he is always with us in us. If not we need to peel away the onion of our life by layer, after layer giving it to Christ.

…The problem with many Christians is that they don’t experience that God is real. God seems to be far away from them. Their prayers seem to be ineffective. Their faith is weak and they lack the boldness to tell others about Jesus Christ…His love can fill our hearts and control our actions. His goodness can flood us and his peace can govern us. By faith, you can trust God right now to fill you. You know you were filled when Baptised. The key is faith. Faith in Jesus and in his promise. I’ll give you a very good article about this. While I always felt the Holy Spirit was in me, Jesus was not leading me. I believe I have begun the transfer of my life to His control. If you are not led, have not totally turned your life over to Christ, and in FAITH been filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, then you will struggle and not live in Christ.  

This Blog entry is not what I want to say. But I felt if you are not prepared to be a New Testament Christian, 100%, then whatever I say will not be heard. You are not of the world. Your Home is not your nation. Why do we act as if it were. Hating, arguing, being separated from the presence of God by our lack of love. “They will know we are Christians by our love.” Jesus is our leader, The Holy spirit will help us resist. Neither Trump nor Nancy Pelosi are out leaders. Jesus is. We should be involved in the things of God not of this world. The USA is not, nor has it ever been a Christian Nation. Jesus will establish our homeland when he returns.

You can only accept the above paragraph, if you have fully given all parts of your life to Christ, and in faith led by the Holy Spirit. The New Testament Church must rise out of the ashes, transformed individually and we will transform our world. AMEN!

The Epistle To Diogene’s

CHAPTER 1

1:1 Since I see, most excellent Diogenes’s, that thou art exceedingly anxious to understand the religion of the Christians, and that thy enquiries respecting they are distinctly and carefully made, as to what God they
trust and how they worship Him, that they all
disregard the world and despise death, and take no account of those who are regarded as gods by the Greeks, neither observe the superstition of the Jews,and as to the nature

of the affection which they entertain one to another, and of this new development or interest, which has entered into men’s lives now
and not before: I gladly welcome this zeal in thee, and I ask of God, Who supplieth both the speaking and the hearing to us, that it may be granted to myself to speak in such a way that thou mayest be made better by the hearing, and to thee that thou mayest so listen that I the speaker may not be disappointed.

In the above short description of the Christian Church about (130-200 AD), how would you say this compares to the church today? In my next entry I will discuss my feelings on this.
